Here is a wonderful and rare Glycine Airman from 1965. The black dial is in fine condition, with a white logo and lettering. In the chapter ring is white 24 hour lettering with large lume dots at the inner end of every second hour and lume stripes at 12 and 24 hours. The wide arrow shaped hour hand has the original lume intact albeit degraded, as does the minute and seconds hands. There are a few small marks around the dial , perhaps most notable on the left side of the dial. The cutout window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly turning the hands through midnight, then backwards through 20:30 and then through midnight again. The watch has a very cool stop lever function; when the crown is pulled into time-setting mode, the seconds hand will continue running until it stops against a tiny wire at the 24 hour mark (top of the dial).

The rotating stainless steel bezel is unlocked with the bottom screw-down crown and is in fine condition with light overall wear. It can be set to keep time in a different time zone. The stainless steel case is in fine condition with the long lugs characteristic of this model. It has a replacement genuine Glycine crown. It shows light overall wear both at the lugs and the case sides, perhaps most notable at the outside of the top left lug. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with some scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Glycine’s version of the venerable AS 1700/01 beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
